About
Hi, I’m Run-DMSteve, aka Steven Bryan Bieler. I live in Portland, Oregon with Special D and our lucky dog Lucky. What are my credentials for writing about music? I’m a high-desert nudist, UFO contactee, and electro-curious bleep freak. Any questions?
I’ve published short fiction in some obscure yet tragically hip places. I’m working on a novel. I’m also an artist. What I lack in ability I make up with zeal. Here’s my first venture into YouTube. As you can see, my visitor count lags Beyoncé’s by about a light year. Help me catch up?
I’m so buff, I can barely fit through my front door!
Thanks for reading. I’ll try not to bore you, but I’m not making any promises.
I drove all of these cars. I’m missing two plates from Washington because I hadn’t yet learned about hoarding.
Loved the piece on your dad on Veteran’s day.
Love the item on Talking Heads, and Stop Making Sense if by far my favourite concert video. But Bartók and cement mixers (“Qu’est-ce que c’est?”) – give me a job on a Portland building site, please!

Thanks for the link. I haven’t (willingly) listened to Bartok in ages. I’d forgotten how hard that guy rocked!
Hey Steve,
As I struggle to stay musically hip I find myself surrendering to my first love, 70’s kitch! I say if you love ABBA, Carpenters, Boney M, Barry Manilow, Nancy Sinatra, embrace it!!!
Mama Mia! And to think we’ve only just begun. Here at Run-DMSteve World HQ, music and fashion are always the passion. But that Nancy — “Open the gates and let the river free”? There was a cat that really was gone.
(PS: The ’80s still rule!)
your blog makes you sound s-m-r-t. id be proud to call you my best friend! 🙂
Steve! I am so middle-aged that this is the first blog I have ever visiited. (Entered? Eaten?) It’s on my favorites list now, though, you life-changer. Love to you and Special D.
